Social Media Analytics
After looking at the analytics for web pages, I’ve noticed that there are 3 key things to pay attention to: conversions into more visits and traffic (which is a result of social media followership), user behavior on the site, and monetization. None of these aspects work without each other so it's important to know when you need more help in one or two areas first before deciding if all three need improvement.
This month all of my social accounts boasted of growth!
I’ve steadily kept my audience. I am glad that this has stayed constant.
I’m surprised to see that my Twitter followers have increased. Twitter is a huge pull for website traffic. I am happy to see that my tweets have been gaining followers and raising awareness.
The growth of BBO’s account is tremendous. This may be due to posting articles.
Reddit, is growing too, which is surprising given the contrast of platform-native content and mine.
Quora
I am happy to be on Quora it’s produced a lot of positive results to my account.
Pinterest has really declined in monthly views. I think there may be an algorithm change but overall, fewer people go on the platform during the summertime.
TikTok
TikTok has grown too, I am always surprised at how this account grows due to the contrast in content.
Youtube
I’ve grown on this platform, too. This is great since a lot more people are listening from Youtube than in Anchor.
Podcast Analytics
The podcast has grown in listens and in income which is awesome. Of course, it’s been difficult to reach the 2nd month's success but that may just be an outlier.
WordPress Analytics
I use WordPress (WP) for the BBO website. The following is a recap of April’s analytics.
WordPress | |||||
Month 1 | Month 2 | Month 3 | Month 4 | Month 5 | |
Pageviews | 119 | 223 | 372 | 180 | 101 |

In total, the site was impacted by the easing COVID restrictions. Fewer people have visited the site but there have been more page views per session.
Sessions and Pageviews
There has been a significant drop in monthly sessions and pageviews, which is expected based on the summertime.

Traffic Sources
The traffic sources have shifted to be dominantly direct traffic, which is great!
With more traffic coming in organically, a diminished amount of traffic from social media is expected.
Substack Newsletter
The number of subscribers and views has stayed steady.
I am focused on keeping a steady schedule.
What worked
In reflection of this month’s wins here is a summary.
Steady schedule
I’ve been consistent with different platforms publishing on a regular schedule. This is a huge win!
What failed
Traffic
Overall traffic went down, which is expected but still hurts to see.
What I’ll be working on next month
Now that I reviewed this month’s wins and grows. Here is a list of my focus for the next month.
Consistency and doubling content
Starting mid-August I’ll be producing double the amount of content. This is going to be quite the pull taking into account that people are back to work (including myself) and keeping track of double the volume is a huge undertaking.
Future plans for my blogging business
Here are plans for the business.
Course Creation
I am struggling to get the course put together. With less time it’s just something I need to prioritize. I dedicated a day to creating a landing page and waitlist– if you are interested in learning more visit the landing page and sign up for the waitlist.
