What Is a Twitter Newsletter?
Twitter newsletters came after the acquisition of Revue in the first quarter of 2021. “Revue is a service that makes it free and easy for anyone to start and publish editorial newsletters” (Twitter). Twitter’s platform has long been known for being the place to host breaking news and is widely known for its text-based content. The newsletter function of Revue is free and easy, and it makes it so you can send the same content to multiple platforms with different layouts in one place, which saves time and increases platform exposure at the same time.
How to Use Your Twitter Newsletter
The purpose of a Twitter newsletter is to increase engagement with followers. When your followers are engaged, they are more likely to subscribe by adding your Twitter username to their email address book. Since Revue is an email publication tool, the rules of email apply. It’s important to use friendly language, send frequently updated content, and not spam your followers.
What to Include in Your Newsletter
You are encouraged to include at least one high-quality image per newsletter that has a quick link back to your website. You are allowed 10 “tweetable” words on your Twitter feed, and it is valuable to include a link back to your blog or website.
How to Create Your Twitter Newsletter
Do you want to create a Twitter newsletter? This blog post will teach you how. Have you heard about the benefits of blogging but don't know where to start? You'll find it easy with this guide. There are many ways blogging can help your business grow and improve customer relations- from SEO and social media marketing to web design and eCommerce. The best part is, there's no need for any complicated software or programming skills! Read on for the step-by-step instructions that will have you up and running in no time!
There are four main steps in creating a newsletter
- Create a template that includes your images, content, and headlines.
- Press “publish” on the template you have created, and this will send the pre-created newsletter out as a draft.
- Edit the draft by adding your content and captions.
- Publish the new version of your newsletter from your dashboard.
By following these simple steps, you'll be able to create your own Twitter newsletter in no time. From adding images and GIFs to sending out emails regularly, the possibilities are endless!
How to Monetize Your Newsletter
You can monetize your newsletter by creating a paid subscription. Typically, the only way to create paid content is to use an email service provider. However, you are allowed to host your WordPress site and use the Revue WordPress plugin to draw people in with free content and then offer them your premium content for a fee. You can provide access to premium content via Paypal, Google Checkout, or by manually entering credit card information. When you want to create a new subscription, go to your dashboard and click the “create subscription” button.
In other words, a Twitter newsletter is a great way to get more attention from your followers and subscribers. Build an email list with this newsletter and start connecting with people. You can use Twitter recommendations to stay in touch with your existing audience, and then your email list will become their mailing list. Use Twitter to promote your email list, and you will benefit from an already engaged audience.
How to Create a Twitter Newsletter in 3 Simple Steps
Twitter newsletters are a relatively new feature and difficult to spot. Here are simple steps to start your first newsletter.
Newsletter Button
Log on to your profile and click on your profile menu. Once the left bar appears, you will notice a button that reads “newsletter.”
Follow the prompts to open a Revue
Revue Settings
Explore the setting section by clicking on the top-right icon and selecting “Account settings.”
You can add your social media handles, add an RSS feed, add your custom domain, and even add team members in settings. My preference is to hide the number of subscribers and add google analytics to measure growth and more.
Draft Your Newsletter
Now you are ready to draft your newsletter. On the top bar, click “create.” This will bring you to a blank page with a prewritten subject line (you can change the subject line).
Add links and media (e.g., images, videos, tweets) by clicking on the bottom buttons. Any RSS feeds that are connected to the account will show on the right-hand side. Quickly integrate content with a click and drag.
Send or Schedule
Once you have completed your newsletter, you have the option to send or schedule.
Tip: Rely on your analytics to identify the best time to post.
When sending your newsletter, you can opt to share it with linked social media accounts.
Analytics
On the top bar of Revue, you will notice a button that says “issues” click it to learn more about how your newsletter is performing. You may also receive an email with updates on performance and must-knowns, such as.
- Open rate
- Clicks
- Unsubscribe number
- Subscriber count
Conclusion
Twitter newsletters are an excellent way to attract new subscribers and get paid!

Tips and Frequently Asked Questions
The following are tips and frequently asked questions.
Personalization and Fallback Values
Like most newsletters, you can personalize your message with the subscriber’s first name. If the subscriber has not entered a name, you can add a fallback value on Revue.
Preheader
The preheader is what subscribers will see before they click on the newsletter. You can easily change the preheader with Revue to include the essential keywords. Here are some tips for preheaders:
- Keep it short. Most emails will only allow 30 characters.
- Hook. Add a question or call-to-action.
- A/B Testing. Test your preheaders to see which performs best.
