Previous recap reports
The following is a summary of last month's objectives, tasks completed, and income from each source.
Load speed
We improved our load speed, but still in the red. We went from 16 to 17 on mobile.
The desktop speed also improved from 28 to 37 and continues to be in the red.
Our strategy was to connect with Cloudways and fix some errors. Our next step is to look at our CDN with Cloudways.
Consider Medium
From mid-June, I’ve posted on Medium once per week. I am working through posting videos on the newsletter and overall removing the weekly prep newsletter.
Reddit and Quora
I’ve posted most weeks on Reddit and Quora. On Reddit, I post a link, poll, article, and answer a question most weeks in June.
Overall on Quora, I’ve received more views as compared to the last 3 months.
Last month I shared that I would be focusing on making fresh pins. I’ve created new pins and have a fresh pin nearly every day. The organic look of my most popular pin continues to inspire me.
Podcast
I’ve played with different audio qualities and editing. I have not received any feedback but I may scale back on audio quality.
Course Waitlist
I continue to look for an easy way to start a waitlist.
Blog Posts
I continue to look for improvements in systematically working through articles. The biggest struggle is juggling multiple articles at once.
June Income report
Incomes and expenses are two important words to keep in mind when running a business. The way in which these are recorded on the financial statements will tell you a lot about the health of my company, so it's a good idea to be aware of what they represent. Here is a listing of the incomes earned and expensed by Blogging Business Owners.

Top affiliate companies
This month I signed up with more affiliates I’ve been working with. Below is a list of affiliate companies:
ConvertKit: ConvertKit supports small businesses with email marketing, e-commerce stores, and much more. I use ConvertKits free landing pages for months before starting my blog. It helped me start my email list and gave me a URL to start posting on my social media pages.
Frase.io: This is a blogger’s best-kept secret! This website gives free trials to make comprehensive outlines for your next blog. It is definitely worth a visit and I would love to know how it’s helped your business in the comment section.
Website Policies: This service helps me sleep at night! Having a website means having a responsibility to disclose your privacy policy with users. Website Policies helps you set up your policy privacy in minutes. I love that users can buy multiple policies such as return policy and disclosures all on the same website.
Cloudways: This is a cloud hosting service that gives new users free trials to use their service. It is easy to scale your business and set up your website.
IvoryMix: Stock photos, Pinterest and Instagram templates, Freebie templates, Facebook group, and tutorials all on Ivory Mix! You can start for free and sign up to receive information on membership.

Social Media Analytics
When looking at the analytics for web pages, I look for conversions into more visits and traffic. The most important aspect of web analytics is knowing when I'm getting enough traffic from social media accounts, user behavior, and monetization.
This month all of my social accounts boasted of growth!
I continue to grow in followers each month with a higher percentage of women as compared with men. However, the split is very close together, at 56% women and 44% men.
It’s great to have data from Creator Studio, overall the results are better than that of June’s. I expect the numbers will drop next month since Reels was activated for a couple hours in mid-June. In those hours I uploaded 4 Reels before Reels was discontinued, the couple of hours it was activated was not enough time to get eyes on it.
I did have more website clicks which are great to know and it’s nice to see that despite not having Reels I was able to reach 4.7K impressions.
I overall increased on all metrics. Not only did I put out more tweets but I started replying and providing a personal connection.
I am glad that my business profile continues to grow and is gaining about 7% engagement.
Reddit is on a standstill, I’ve continued to post on Reddit and am increasing my post by adding links, articles, and questions.
Quora
I am a hit on Quora! I reached 2.43K views and a whopping 6 subscribers. This is mostly due to posting more often and engaging with others on the platform.
Pinterest has dropped in impressions and I think it’s because Idea Pins were opened up to the public last month.
Compared to the previous month’s idea pins are gaining less traction but overall receiving more saves and outbound clicks.
TikTok
This is the first month I am sharing TikTok stats. I am beyond impressed with followers on the platform. Especially because my content is not native to the platform.
Youtube
This is the first month I share Youtube statistics. Overall I am happy with the growth of the channel especially because (again) the content is not native to the platform.
Watch time has doubled since last month.
According to the reach analytics, I am niching down with more viewers watching the videos rather than finding more audience members.
Overall, I am very happy with the number of views and subscribers.
Podcast Analytics
Summer is a time to be with family, go to the beach, and live out loud! So I am happy for the traction the podcast is sustaining.
WordPress Analytics
I use WordPress (WP) for the BBO website. The following is a recap of June’s analytics.
WordPress | ||||
Month 1 | Month 2 | Month 3 | Month 4
Pageviews | 119 | 223 | 372 | 180 |
Sessions | 142 | 101 | 127 | 75 |
Bounce Rate (percentage) | 62 | 52 | 59.84 | 50.67 |
Time-on-site (minutes) | 2 | 1.2 | 1.51 | 3.01 |
Users | 39 | 70 | 69 | 49 |
Due to it being Summer, I think that the analytics this month is expected. I am glad that Blogging Business Owner has a following that is sustainable. Blogs tend to dip in the Summer and BBO is seeing this trend, too.
Sessions and Pageviews
There was a drop in both sessions and pageviews, which is expected for this time of year. I also wonder how we managed to get so much traction the first month as compared to June.
WordPress | ||||
Month 1 | Month 2 | Month 3 | Month 4
Pageviews | 119 | 223 | 372 | 180 |
Sessions | 142 | 101 | 127 | 75 |
Bounce Rate
BBO’s bounce rate continues to drop, which is such great news! As we continue to increase our load speed I hope to continue to see the bounce rate lower even more.
WordPress | ||||
Month 1 | Month 2 | Month 3 | Month 4
Bounce Rate (percentage) | 62 | 52 | 59.84 | 50.67 |
Top Pages
Aside from the home page income reports continue to be the highest-ranked pages.
Time-on-Site
Time-on-site continues to increase which may be due to nurturing the BBO audience and consistently adding value to the site.
WordPress | ||||
Month 1 | Month 2 | Month 3 | Month 4
Time-on-site (minutes) | 2 | 1.2 | 1.51 | 3.01 |
Traffic Sources
Top channels have continued to be consistent with a slight increase from social media.
Overall the social channel that pushes the most traffic is Pinterest with most of the engagement clustered during the week the income report is released.
As far as conversion of going from social media to the site and enjoying the content, Pinterest and LinkedIn users were more likely to stay on the site. Out of the two Pinterest audiences were more interested in the content than LinkedIn.
Substack Newsletter
Substack stayed stable throughout the month. I decided to cancel the “Prepare for the Week” publishing.

Blogging Business Owner is the place to grow your traffic, nurture your audience, and make money.

What worked
In reflection of this month’s wins here is a summary.
Blogging
I am proud of the systems that have been implemented. As of now, we are completely on track three months ahead of content to automatically publish.
What failed
Here are some areas that failed this month.
I am doing great with engagement on the platform but it lacks conversion to the platform. Hopefully, this will change once I am selling a product.
What I’ll be working on next month
Now that I reviewed this month’s wins and grows. Here is a list of my focus for May.
I’ll continue to add threads to Twitter and tag people to encourage engagement.
Quora
Engage with communities on Quora.
Pinterest conversions have been great! Placing greater emphasis on the platform will continue to support website sessions.
Load speed
Load speed continues to be a challenge. This month we will focus on the opportunities and diagnosis provided by Google’s PageSpeed Insights.
Future plans for my blogging business
Here are plans for the business.
Course Waitlist
Now that I have Acadle, I can now begin the social media marketing course waitlist. I’ll learn more about launching and waitlisting and hopefully start promoting it in the near future.
Tips to Become a Blogger
After one more month of blogging, here are some blogging tips.
Health and Wellness
Since this Summertime is a slump time in blogging, take it easy on yourself, relax, and laugh! I am enjoying keeping up with the Olympic trials. I’d love to hear how you are keeping your spirits up.
